Mizen2Malin Cycle

18th May 2017

Just a week to go until the Mizen2Malin cycle begins in County Cork and heads for Donegal. Eugene O'Neill our main Sponsor presented the cyclists with the special designed jerseys and a big thank you to Edel Nugent for her time and patience in get the jersey ready. Also pictured is Conor Holland who has the unenviable job of looking after the transport and cyclists for the four days.

Registration for the children's cycle starts at 12.30pm on Sunday and all children taking part must have a road worthy bike and be wearing a helmet. Parents should register their children first with the school staff and each group will be called in turn to start the cycle.

Safety first is the order of the day and we would ask parents not to park around the school entrance but use other areas such as Cabragh filling station. Primary 1,2 and 3 will be travelling up to Ackinduff chapel and back. All children in this category must be accompanied by an adult. Children can walk or cycle and children of any age can take part in this group. Primary 6 and 7 will be first group away and will be accompanied by experienced cyclists and support vehicles. P4 & 5 will be next group away with similar support. These groups will complete a 5km route. All children should be encouraged to cycle with care.

When the groups return to the school there will be refreshments and the draw for the bicycles will take place.

All marshals should be at the school from 12.15. Anybody driving a support vehicle will be permitted to park in the school carpark.
