A Rhyming Adventure in Primary 1!
In Primary 1, we have had a fantastic time exploring nursery rhymes in our topic called “A Time to Rhyme!” Each rhyme took us on a different adventure where we learned and played in exciting ways.
Firstly, we met Humpty Dumpty. We wondered what would happen if he fell from a wall, so we used all sorts of objects to see which ones would make Humpty crack. Then, we worked in teams to build our very own walls! After all that fun, Humpty left us some ingredients and instructions to make scrambled eggs. We followed the instructions together as a class, and guess what? It was yummy!
Next, we sang about Jack and Jill. This rhyme helped us learn about balance. We carried spoons filled with water along different paths, carefully trying not to spill! It was tricky but great fun. We also did an experiment to see which objects would float or sink. It was amazing to see all the different objects in the water!
Then, we came to Incy Wincy Spider. We learned about the word “waterproof” and experimented with materials to find out what would keep Incy dry in the rain. We even followed another set of instructions to make spider buns for Halloween. They looked spooky and tasted delicious!
Lastly, we twinkled with Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star. During circle time, we talked about how we are all stars in our own way. Each of us has special qualities that make us shine bright. What a wonderful way to end our rhyming adventure!
