Congratulations to all the boys and girls in St. Mary’s who reached their AR target this term!
Reading abilities greatly impact pupil performance across all subject areas, and pupils who read more, are more confident and skilled readers in all reading environments. Accelerated Reader helps create a culture of reading through engagement, choice, and celebration of reading achievement. The children are encouraged to strive to ‘do their best’ with reading and to achieve the realistic goals that have been set.
Mrs Poacher organised a special surprise for all the children who have been working so hard over the past few months and who reached their AR target.
We were delighted to welcome Phelim and Mickey from "Jigsaw Farm" to St Mary's.
The children were so excited to explore the "Mobile Petting Farm" and learn about a wide range of animals.
The children had opportunities to touch and hold a Pygmy Hedgehog, Gecko, Bearded Dragon, Blue Tongued Lizard, Sugar Glider, White-Lipped Tree Frog, Corn Snake, Alpaca, Goat, Rabbits, Tortoises, Guinea Pigs and Lambs.
A special word of thanks to Phelim! The children learned so much today about all the animals and thoroughly enjoyed this amazing experience!
