Grand Opening Of Sensory Garden
On Saturday 17th of June at 2:00 pm, we will celebrate the official opening of our Sensory Garden in St Mary’s.
We invite our parents and school community to St. Mary’s to celebrate this special occasion with us.
Refreshments will be provided in our outdoor areas and this promises to be a very enjoyable day for everyone in our school community.
Our Eco- Council and Gardening Club, led by Mr McErlean, have been hard at work designing the Sensory Garden for the pupils in St Mary’s. This project has been thoroughly planned with an immense collaborative effort from all the pupils and volunteers to utilise the unused space at the school and transform it into a beautiful, therapeutic and tranquil space.
The Sensory Garden will open up all sorts of new learning and discovery opportunities for our pupils and will not only benefit our children now, but the children in many years to come.
To coincide with the opening of the Sensory Garden, our parent support group, ‘Friends of Cabragh’ are hosting a sponsored ‘Walkathon’ to raise funds for St. Mary’s.
This will involve the children of St. Mary’s collecting sponsorship for walking around our school track, for a set time frame, depending on their age group.
Parents are welcome to walk with their children on the day.
Children can choose their challenge time.
Walkathon Challenge:
P1/P2 – 15 minutes
P3/P4 – 20 minutes
P5/P6/P7 – 30 minutes
We are indebted to ‘Friends of Cabragh’, who work tirelessly to provide much needed funds to our school. Money raised from the Walkathon event will go towards developing our Outdoor Learning resources and ICT resources.
We look forward to seeing everyone on the 17th June at 2:00 pm!
