Bird cakes

Making seasonal winter bird cakes for World Around Us topic.

The children observed the changes made to lard when heated and then left to cool down.

Snakes

Children were learning about explanations in the format of flow diagrams. They learned about how snakes shed their skins. Mrs poacher brought in a real snakeskin that had been shed and Mrs Scullion brought us in a real python skin from home for the children to explore.
