Making Bird Cakes in Primary 3
The Primary 3 children have been working so hard in their World Around Us lessons!
It is difficult for birds to find food during the winter months and so Primary 3 decided to help!
The children were learning about animals in winter and how the birds find it difficult to find food because of the cold weather.
As part of their activity based learning the children made bird cakes and were following instructions on how to do this.
We were learning that birds need lots of energy and our bird cakes are full of energy for the birds!
We used a mixture of bird seed, lard, dried meal worms, bread and cheese and we hope that the birds enjoy our creations!
We are also learning about the features of instructional writing for our literacy genre this term.
