This year’s Cabragh Cup Netball tournament took place in the beautiful summer sunshine.
St Mary’s hosted 6 schools from the local area: Donaghmore, Roan, Moy, Aughadarragh, Ballygawley and Glencull. Despite the very warm weather, we were treated to a wonderful display of skill, passion and sportsmanship from all teams.
The Joe Sheehan Memorial Cup went home with St Patrick’s, Aughadarragh after a nail-biting final with St Patrick’s, Donaghmore; the Aughadarragh girls winning by a single point!
The shield final was also an extremely close, exciting encounter, but the girls from St Malachy’s Glencull ran out one point winners over St John’s, Moy.
Thank you to all staff who helped make the day a huge success. From planning fixtures, co-ordinating games, keeping scores, ordering and collecting medals, making tea and food and looking after our visiting schools.
A special thank you to our brilliant referees, past pupil Alanah Donnelly and our student teacher Maire Slane, who helped the competition run so smoothly.
