Anti-Bullying Week takes places this week from 13th to 17th November 2023 and has the theme 'Make A Noise About Bullying'.
The theme of 'Make A Noise About Bullying' came about following consultation with teachers and pupils by the Anti-Bullying Alliance which coordinates Anti-Bullying Week every year. Teachers and children wanted a theme that empowered them to do something positive to counter the harm and hurt that bullying causes.
Anti-Bullying Week will remind everyone whether it’s in school, at home, in the community or online, we can bring an end to bullying. The activities this week will encourage our pupils to consider what bullying means to us, how banter can turn into something more hurtful, and what we can do to stop bullying.
What is Odd Socks Day?
Odd Socks Day is designed to be fun! It’s an opportunity to encourage the children to express themselves and celebrate their individuality and what makes us all unique! Odd Socks Day celebrates not only the freedom to wear whatever kind of socks the children want, but it also makes a statement about embracing differences and being kind to people instead of bullying them for being unique.
