Today we held our Open Day for prospective parents for 2023. The day was really well attended and the feedback from parents who visited was very positive.
The parents enjoyed a cup of tea, scones and shortbread and had the opportunity to meet the staff of St Mary’s. Thank you to Patricia, Maureen and Rita, our school cooks, who baked the delicious scones and shortbread for our Open Day!
Our talented school choir then performed a medley of festive Christmas songs for everyone. The choir are a credit to the school and we are very proud of them all! Thank you to Mrs McCann, our wonderful P6 teacher and choir mistress for all her hard work with our choir!
Following the principal’s address, the children and their parents visited our beautiful Primary One classroom and Miss Cush explained the play-based learning approach in Primary One and how it enhances the children’s academic and developmental learning outcomes. The parents and children enjoyed exploring the carousel activities set up in the classroom and admiring the beautiful displays and engaging play areas.
The children also enjoyed the tour outside and exploring our outdoor play areas and visiting the Fairy Garden!
We enjoyed meeting everyone today and we would love to welcome you and your child as part of our St Mary’s family in September 2023.
