P1 visted Parkanaur's Gruffalo Trail today. After getting sorted into groups the children set off to try and find all the characters in the story. They also had to carry out tasks, such as building nests for Owl and log houses for Snake and talk about things we can find in nature at springtime.
The Gruffalo Trail took us around the grounds and the house at Parkanaur. At the end of the trail, up at the house, we didn't just see the beautiful white deer, but also the real life Gruffalo! He must have been in a funny mood today as he danced in the woods and then ran away from the children!
After lunch, we spent some more time talking about the Gruffalo story and made paper puppets of the characters.
The children very much enjoyed today and we were very proud of them for their excellent behaviour!
