P5 Outdoor STEM Day
P5 made the most of the beautiful weather this week and enjoyed bringing their STEM lessons outdoors. We linked our STEM learning with our World Around Us topic of ‘Magnificent Machines’ and were set the challenging of creating our own simple machine: a pulley!
P5 children worked in groups and used a range of materials including paper cups, string, tape, pencils and thread spoolies to make their pulley work. All groups managed to get their pulley to carry a load. There are certainly plenty of budding scientists and engineers in our class!
We finished the day by having some fun exploring the explosive reaction between coke and mentos.
