Primary 5 have been very busy thoughout Term 1 learning about our topic 'Raiders and Traders'. Have a look at some of the brilliant work we got up to:
- A carousel activity to introduce the topic and allow pupils to generate questions they would like to find the answer to.
- Science investigation to explore why the Vikings left Scandinavia. We looked at the impact of acidic soil on plant growth.
- Floating and sinking investigations.
- A STEM challenge to design and create our own Viking longship which could carry passengers (marbles).
- A Viking longship art project - we used various different methods to create our collage including drawing, smudging oil pastels, dry brushing, sponging and paint splatters
- A research project to gather evidence that the Vikings were raiders.
- We played the trading game to understand what trade is and how it happens.
- We created our own Viking settlements using Minecraft.
- A recount of a Viking raid.
