P6 'Make £5 Grow' Chocolate Sale
Primary 6 had such a successful chocolate sale this morning for their “Make £5 Grow” initiative.
"Make £5 Grow" is a fantastic experience which introduces the children to skills they will need in later life. It teaches them about teamwork, organisation, responsibility and using their initiative. The "Make £5 Grow" initiative provides the children with an insight to the world of business and manages to generate amazing and unique ideas, which the pupils use to become outstanding entrepreneurs!
The children worked incredibly hard on this over the past few weeks. They have had to carry out market research, budget for ingredients and promote their products, helping them to develop into young entrepreneurs. They have also been practising their skills handling money, giving change, and adding totals together. In the lead up to the event each group was extremely busy preparing their products in school and sometimes even sampling the goods! The sale was a resounding success, and, in the end, the final profit figure stood at £532.24! Well done Primary 6!
Thank you to everyone who came and supported their project or donated money to the event. A huge thanks to Mr Mc Erlean and all the staff and friends who made extra buns and bakes to help our sale become the huge success it was!
A portion of the money raised will now be spent on a fun day for the pupils, while the rest will be spent on school equipment chosen by our student council.
