P7 PDMU Respect Lesson
The P7 children spent an afternoon learning and talking about the importance of respect in the classroom, in the whole school and respect at home as well.
The pupils took part in a Toothpaste Activity to show a link with Respect. In pairs, one pupil squeezed all of the toothpaste out as quickly as they could in a set time. The second pupil then had three minutes to try put all the toothpaste back into the tube using only a lollipop stick.
The activity taught the children how quick it is to say something mean or do something that can be hurtful (squeezing toothpaste out) but how hard it is to take it back or say sorry (putting toothpaste back into tube).
The lesson taught the children to think about their words and actions before they speak or act with other children.
