Primary 3 trip to Tannaghmore Farm & Gardens
Today Primary 3 visitied Tannaghmore Animal Farm and Gardens. The children had close encounters with many animals including cattle, sheep, pigs, goats and poultry!
Many of these breeds on the farm are now rare or close to extinction and include Irish Moiled cattle, the rarest breed of cattle in the world; and Dexter cattle, one of the smallest breed of cattle in the world! A terrific trip for our Primary 3 children who are studying the farm topic for World Around Us this term.
The children saw Galway sheep, Saddleback pigs, various poultry and rabbits, they all got to feel the little chicks too. A great experience for all the children!
After visiting the farm the children had lunch in the playpark and had fun in the sunshine!! Everyone had a super day!!!
