Primary 4 work as Paleontologists
19th Feb 2024
Primary 4 have been studying dinosaurs, so for Science week we decided to pretend to be Paleontologists to see what it was really like to try and remove a fossil from rock. We used a large chocolate chip cookie and a toothpick as our tool. We learnt how much patience, time and gentleness is needed to carry out the task of releasing a fossil (chocolate chip) from rock (biscuit). It was quite stressful as we were afraid of breaking the chocolate chip if we chipped too hard. Eventually we managed to release all the chocolate chips from the cookie. We were surprised at how big some of the pieces were. It takes a a lot of skill to be a Paleontologist.
