Yesterday, we took our Science lesson out of the classroom. The aim of our investigation was to find out which surface had the least friction: table, tarmac, carpet or grass.
Before we completed the investigation we made a prediction. Most of us predicted that the table would have the least friction as it has the smoothest surface.
In groups, we had to measure the distance a toy car travelled on each surface. We took three measurements for each surface and then worked out the average distance. To keep it a fair test we only changed one thing – the surface. Next week we will write up this investigation in our books and find out if our predictions were correct.
