September fun in Primary 1!

27th Sep 2024

Primary 1 had a fabulous start to school! Over the past few weeks they have been busy counting to 10, learning how to write numbers and matching words that rhyme. They are loving taking their play based learning outdoors and developing their turn taking and sharing skills.

They have been learning lots of nursery rhymes and this week they received letters from Humpty Dumpty who asked the boys and girls for help. They had to carry out an experiment in which they had to test which materials would cause Humpty to crack when placed in a plastic bag. Their results showed that Humpty did not crack when placed in a bag of feathers and pom poms but he did crack when placed in a bag of cubes, rocks and stones.

Today they had to work in groups to create a wall for Humpty's friends. They worked as a group to decide on which materials would work best and even had a challenge to see who could build the tallest wall.

 Have a lovely weekend!
