St Patrick's Day Celebrations!

14th Mar 2025

Today we held a "Green Day" in St. Mary's to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. The children came to school dressed in green and took part in a range of St. Patrick's Day art and craft activities. The children had lots of fun making pots of gold, making leprechaun traps, finding out about St. Patrick and creating beautiful St. Patrick's Day cards.

St Mary's has a great tradition of music and this morning the children enjoyed playing music, singing, dancing and performing on stage at our St Patrick's Day Assembly!

Primary 1 and Primary 2 performed "Incy Wincy Leprechaun" for the whole school. Well done P1 & P2! You were all brilliant!

Our Traditional Music Group performed 'The Dawning of the Day', 'Roddy Mc Corley', 'Kerry Polka' and 'Rattlin Bog'. They also performed two slides 'Brosna Slide' and 'O'Keefe's Slide'. Thank you to our traditional music teacher, Marina, for preparing the children so well! The traditional group performed beautifully!

Holly and Meabh delighted everyone with their fantastic Irish Dancing! First they danced two reels and then Meabh danced the "St Patrick's Day Dance"

The highlight of our St Patrick's Day Assembly was when our whole school community came together to sing
"Ireland's Call"! There was a sea of green in the Assembly Hall and beautiful voices coming together to celebrate St Patrick's Day!

Please view the videos and picture galleries below, showcasing our amazing children! We all had a wonderful time celebrating St. Patrick's Day.

Lá Fhéile Pádraig sona daoibh!
