Dear P6 Parent/Guardian,
Your child will be beginning Primary 7 in September 2024 and will then be transferring to Post Primary School in September 2025.
As has been the practice over the last number of years the Department of Education has produced a document providing advice to parents of children in P6 on the post-primary transfer process. The purpose of this document is to ensure that parents receive timely information about the range of issues they need to take into account when making important decisions about the next stage in their child’s education. I would like to invite all Primary 6 parents to a meeting in the School Assembly Hall on Monday 26th February 2024 at 6:00 pm to explain the system for transferring children to Post-Primary School.
SEAG (The Schools' Entrance Assessment Group) provides and administers the Entrance Assessment used by all 63 academically selective schools in N. Ireland. The registration process will be online and easy to use for parents / guardians wishing to register their children. The dates planned for the SEAG 2024 Entrance Assessment are Saturday 16th and Saturday 23rd November 2024. Registration for the SEAG Entrance Assessment will open in May 2024.
