Traditional Music in St. Mary's
Thanks to the tremendous efforts of Friends of Cabragh, our school received a grant for traditional musical instruments. A number of Primary 6 and Primary 7 children have chosen to learn how to play a traditional musical instrument. There was a lot of excitement today among the children as they got their new instrument for the first time and met their music tutor, Miss Aoibheann McArdle.
Aoibheann is able to teach the fiddle, bodhran, banjo and mandolin so we are very lucky to have such a talented musician come to our school. She will tutor the children in small groups in their class bubbles each Tuesday. Some children are also taking home their concertina or wooden flute and they will be getting lessons outside of school.
Once more we would like to thank Friends of Cabragh for this wonderful opportunity for our children!
