Winnie the Witch visits P1
This morning, as we were sitting on the mat, Primary 1 heard a loud crashing sound outside. When they went out to explore what the sound was, they discovered some legs and a broomstick hanging out of the hedge- it was Winnie the Witch! We could not believe it!
Winnie left us a note explaining that as she was flying over Cabragh last night, she lost control and crashed into the bushes. Thankfully, Winnie was safe and she said she was very happy that it was our playground that she crashed into! However her belly was rumbling as she had no food to eat.
Winnie noticed that Primary 1 had a mud kitchen in their playground and asked the boys and girls if they could create a recipe for her to eat. They used lots of ingredients from our playground such as leaves, muck, dirt, grass and stones and placed their dishes into our mud kitchen oven to cook. Yummy...
There was lots of excitement as the children developed their recipe making and recipe writing skills and their creative skills were evident as they used lots of descriptive words to describe their recipes. They compared their meals to the meals we eat and we decided that our meals were much tastier!
Thank you to P1 for helping Winnie today and we hope she is able to fly again before Halloween night!
