Gotta Keep Reading!
World Book Day is on Thursday 4th March and aims to encourage a love of reading in children. The day is a celebration of everything books, including the authors, illustrators and the children who read them.
To celebrate World Book Day we invite all the children to view the video below and see how many celebrity readers they can identify! The children are also encouraged to dress up as their favourite literary character this week and send their photo to Mrs Quinn.
This year Mrs Poacher has organised a very exciting competition called “The Masked Reader”! In readiness for World Book Day on Thursday, some of our staff have donned a virtual mask whilst they read an extract from a favourite book. Our pupils' task? Guess who is behind the mask! Some clues have also been posted on Google Classroom! Please see the Masked Reader feature on the school website.
Due to Lockdown and school closures, the World Book Day organisation have distributed new single-use digital versions of the £1 tokens. Please see your child's Google Classroom for more information. Tokens can be printed at home or displayed on a phone.
Remember!
The more that you read,
The more things you will know.
The more you learn,
The more places you'll go!
Dr Seuss
We hope everyone enjoys this year's World Book Day celebrations!
Good Luck to everyone taking part in the Masked Reader Competition!
Keep reading everyone!
